The first networking event for our mentoring program will be at the famous Friar's Club on August 17th.  The event is entirely free, courtesy of the generous contributions of the Obama Lawyers Committee members.  Students who participated in the Committee's law firm outreach efforts will receive the invitation with the specific event details.

The mentoring program will connect participating law students with one or more Democratic attorneys in their desired field of interest. If, for example, you are interested in working in mergers and acquisitions (“M&A”), the mentoring program will provide participants with the opportunity to have informational interviews, e-mail and phone exchanges with mentors who work in M&A. The program will allow lawyers to contribute to the campaign in another way than just financially by mentoring a law student who is willing to volunteer their limited time to help out President Obama’s re-election efforts. The time commitment is minimal, and will not amount to more than 1 hour a week, or 4 hours most a month.  And because of the importance of final exam preparation, no work will be requested after November 15, 2011 for the Fall semester.
