Ted Anastasiou, President

Class Year: 2012

Ted Anastasiou is a second-year student at Brooklyn Law School. Ted first became active in politics in high school, where he interned for Rep. Rothman, and protested against the Iraq War. Prior to entering law school, Ted worked for a variety of political campaigns, including the Obama 2008 presidential campaign in New Jersey and Ohio, and the Cuomo campaign in New York. While in law school, Ted has served as President of the Brooklyn Law School Democrats, Chair of the New York Democratic Law Student Council and co-chair of the Law School Outreach Committee of the New York Democratic Lawyers Council. Ted is also a member of the Independent Neighborhood Democrats in Brooklyn's 52nd Assembly District and GAPnet, a Greek-American progressive organization. In his spare time, Ted enjoys reading, hanging out with friends, and cheering on the New York Jets.



Lance Polivy, Vice President of Programming

Class Year: 2013

Lance is a second-year student at the New York University School of Law in New York, NY. Originally from Westchester, NY, Lance did his undergrad at Cornell University and double majored in Government and History. In between college and law school, Lance worked for two years in politics and public policy. He was an organizer on President Obama's campaign in southwest Pennsylvania. After the campaign, Lance moved to Washington, DC, where he worked for Senator Schumer and two non-profits covering on health care, climate change, and education policy issues. Mariam Gillis, Vice President of Communications

Mariam is currently a first-year law student at the University of Alabama School of Law. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University in 2004. While at Georgetown, she served as a teaching assistant and worked for the U.S. Department of Justice – Office of the Inspector General. After college, Mariam was recruited by the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) for the Pat Roberts Defense Community Scholars Fellowship where she spent two years studying intensive Arabic, Farsi, and Dari in Washington, D.C. and throughout the Middle East. Upon completion of her studies, she served as a Middle East regional desk officer for DoD. Originally from California, Mariam is currently learning to speak football (“Roll Tide!”). Rod Damis, Vice President of Finance

Rod is a second year dual degree JD/MBA law student at the University at Buffalo Law School. Rod was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY and attended John Jay College in New York, NY. While attending John Jay College he majored in Forensic Psychology and worked full time as a police cadet for the NYPD in the department’s Forensic Crime Lab and Patrol Borough Brooklyn South units. Prior to law school, Rod began his political experience by interning and eventually working for New York State Assemblyman and New York County Democratic County leader Keith L.T. Wright. Since starting law school Rod has continued to work in the offices of various political leaders including New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo, Congressman Charles Rangel, New York State Assemblyman Keith L.T. Wright and Assemblywoman Crystal Peoples Stokes. Rod’s interests include comedy, music, basketball and boxing.


Sarah Harrison, Vice President of Membership

Sarah Harrison is a second-year law student at South Texas College of Law in Houston, Texas. Sarah played volleyball for UNC Pembroke and the University of West Florida before receiving her degree in Studio Art at Texas State University. In law school Sarah has served as the President of her Democratic Student Association, worked on the Bill White for Texas Governor campaign in the summer of 2010 and ran a judicial campaign in the fall of 2010. Joel Murray, President

Joel Murray is a third-year student at the University of California, Davis, School of Law. Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, Joel attended the University of Washington where he was active in campus politics, and advocated for more affordable tuition and financial aid for students. Following his graduation from UW, Joel completed his MSc in Philosophy and Public Policy at the London School of Economics. Joel has worked on three successful ballot measure campaigns in Washington State, primarily focusing on organizing and communications. Sonny Thatch, Vice President of Voting Rights

Sonny Thatch is a third-year law student at The Ohio State University, Moritz College of Law. A Chicago native, Sonny received his B.A. in Political Science from DePaul University’s Honors Program. While in law school, Sonny served as a poll observer with Obama for America. Prior to law school, Sonny served as an election judge in Illinois and as a Washington, D.C. intern for the Senate Assistant Majority Leader, Richard Durbin (IL). An avid tennis player, Sonny also finds time to serve as a member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, where he serves on the National Commodore’s staff. Justin Jones, Vice President of Membership

Justin Jones is a graduate of Tuskegee University located in Tuskegee, AL. He graduated summa cum laude with a B.A.in Political Science. While at Tuskegee he was the President of Alpha Kappa Mu, a member of Pi Sigma Tau, and a Distinguished Presidential Scholarship Award recipient. He has gained a wealth of experience while working for the National Park Service at the George Washington Carver Museum and a Tuskegee University, Senior Caller. Adrienne Chin-Perez, Vice President of Finance

Adrienne Chin-Perez is a first-year law student at The Ohio State University, Moritz College of Law. A San Francisco Bay Area native, Adrienne received her B.S. in Psychology from Illinois Institute of Technology with minors in Political Science and Business. During her undergraduate years, she was President of Psi Chi, the national honor society for psychology. After working a number of years as a research manager, she renewed her passion for civic engagement and politics by attending law school and getting involved with a number of organizations. Theresa Chalhoub, Vice President of Communications

Theresa is currently a joint J.D./M.P.A. candidate at New York University School of Law and Princeton’s Woodrow Wilson School. She earned her B.A. in Political Science and Psychology from Saint Louis University and worked during her senior year as a Staff Assistant to Congressman Russ Carnahan, primarily on immigration issues. After college, Theresa taught English in China for a year before joining Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign where she worked in New Hampshire, Missouri, Nebraska, Texas, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, and South Dakota. Lynn Eisenberg, Vice-President of Technology

Lynn is a 2012 J.D. candidate at NYU School of Law where she is currently serving as the Co-President of the law democrats. In addition to local campaigns in Missouri, Lynn worked on President Barack Obama's campaign in New Hampshire, Illinois, Pennsylvania and Florida. Before leaving to attend NYU, she was David Plouffe's assistant in Washington, DC and looks forward to returning to our nation's capital this summer. Judah Ariel, Secretary/Treasurer

Judah Ariel is a 2011 J.D. candidate at New York University School of Law, where he previously served as president of the Law Democrats and co-founded NYU Law for Obama. Prior to law school, Judah worked for Congressman Earl Blumenauer (D-Ore.) on the House International Relations and Ways & Means Committees, successfully passing legislation on global access to safe drinking water, illegal logging, and the Iraqi refugee crisis, as well as helping to negotiate the first enforceable environmental standards in a U.S. trade agreement. Judah has worked on statewide Democratic campaigns in Ohio and Massachusetts and is spending this summer working at Sidley Austin LLP, the firm where Barack and Michelle Obama met. Maxwell Livingston, Western Regional Director

Max is a 3L at Marquette University Law School. Prior to law school, he attended the University of California at Berkeley, where he majored in English Literature and helped the Democratic National Committee raise money. At Marquette, Max serves as President of the Marquette Law School Democrats. Bradley L. Cromes, President

Class Year: 2010

Bradley L. Cromes is a 2010 J.D./M.A. (Public Policy and Management) candidate at The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law and John Glenn School of Public Affairs. Bradley received his B.A. in political science from Hiram College in 2006, and worked before law school on the Northeast Ohio Council on Higher Education's College 360 talent attraction and retention initiative. Last fall, Bradley took a semester off from his studies to serve as Field Director for Ohio State Rep. Dan Dodd's reelection campaign, and won reelection for his candidate by 15% of the vote in the reddest district in Ohio currently held by a Democrat. Bradley also worked for the Ohio Democratic Party's as a voter protection intern in the summer of 2008, and previously served NDLSC as Midwest Regional Membership Director and 2009 National Convention Coordinator. He grew up in Bellefontaine, Ohio, and currently resides in Columbus.


Ryan Cwach, Vice President of Membership

Class Year: 2012

Ryan Cwach is a first year student at the University of Iowa College of Law. He has spent most of his adult life organizing for Democratic principles. As an undergraduate at the University of South Dakota, he strengthened the University Democrats organization to become the strongest student Democratic organization in the state of South Dakota. He was a campaign manager for a South Dakota state Senate seat during college and proud to say that he was a field organizer for President Obama before attending law school. In both of these campaigns, he organized students, teachers, farmers, union members as well as first time voters to knock on doors and make phone calls. In the swing state of Iowa, he organized law students to serve as legal observers for President Obama’s Counsel for Change. Ryan is excited to lead the NDLSC into a new era of strong chapters with active and strong members, but he needs your help. Edward Carlson, Vice President of Communications

Edward Carlson is a 2011 J.D. candidate at the University of Iowa School of Law. Edward received his B.A in Political Science and Italian from Colorado College in 2006. Prior to law school, Edward was a 2005 Congressional Hispanic Caucus intern with the Office of the Democratic Leader, Nancy Pelosi, a legislative fellow in Colorado during the 2006-7 legislative session, and then became a Henry Luce Scholar in Asia with the FMR. Japanese Parliamentary Secretary in the Cabinet Office of Economic and Fiscal Policy. Edward is originally from Guatemala, and grew up in Iowa.

Lee Pham, Finance Director
Term: 03/2009 - 03/2010
Class Year: 2011

Lee Pham is a student at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York City. He will graduate in May 2010 and will declare his concentration in intellectual property law. Lee has participated in two of Cardozo's study abroad seminars; Introduction to Law in India, focused on intellectual property and constitutional democracy, and Comparative Corporate Governance at Oxford University. Lee served as President of the Cardozo Democrats Society and the Senator for his 1L class at-large in the Cardozo Student Bar Association. He also served as the National Treasurer of the National Society of Black Engineers. Lee spent his 1L summer working with the Intellectual Property Strategy Group at American Express in New York City, and he continued with the company through his second year. He will spend his 2L summer interning at the largest IP law firm in Vietnam supported by Cardozo’s International Corporate & Intellectual Property Law Summer Fellowship. In his community in Brooklyn, Lee volunteers for local community organizing efforts. Lee has a Chemical Engineering degree from Drexel University, and he is originally from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.


Adrienne Rose, Director of Legal Research

Adrienne Rose is a J.D. candidate at the New York University School of Law. Adrienne received her B.A. in Urban Studies (Political Science) with a minor in Mathematics from Barnard College in 2003. Prior to law school, she worked as Senior Legislative Assistant for Congressman Adam Schiff in Washington, DC, and she assisted the congressman with his work on the House Judiciary Committee and the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice and Science. Adrienne grew up in Los Angeles and currently lives in New York.


Bill Froehlich, Director of Technology

Bill Froehlich is a 2011 J.D. candidate at The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law. Bill received his B.A. in political science and mathematics from Denison University in Granville, Ohio. While at Denison University Bill was co-chair of Denison University’s third Relay For Life (a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society), was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity, and served as a Senator in campus governance. Prior to law school bill spent a few months working as a fundraiser on Sherrod Brown’s successful 2006 campaign for U.S. Senate and worked as a legislative aide for Ohio State Senator and Senate Minority Leader Teresa Fedor of Toledo. Bill is a lifelong buckeye growing up in Avon Lake, Ohio and presently living in Columbus, Ohio.


Brandon Loggins, Secretary/Treasurer

Class Year: 2010

Brandon Loggins is a 2010 J.D. candidate at the University of Illinois College of Law. Brandon received his B.A. in political science from the University of Illinois at Urban at Champaign in May 2005. At Illinois, he served on the Board of Fraternity Affairs and as President of the University of Illinois Black Greek Council among numerous other leadership capacities. Mr. Loggins deferred law school in 2005 and successfully taught and moved 4th Grade students in the Mississippi Delta to significant academic gains through his participation in the nationally recognized Teach For America Program. Brandon is from the South Side of Chicago.
